How To Improve Your Tennis Skill

By: Bangkokian Home | Recreation-and-Sports | Tennis

As we know that every tennis players are always try to improve their skills. However, there are only few of them are successful. This is because most of tennis player do not have a qualified trainer or someone who has enough experience on tennis to look and observe you during your play. As a result, most of players have to rely on their own judgement about themself what skill should be improved or developed. But the problem is, by doing so, players is not be able to effectively assess themselves during the play as they have to concentrate on the game. Today, I have some tips about how to assess and find you strength and weakness during your play so you can develop further on that circumstances.

1. Are you always looking at the tennis ball during the play? This is may be the problem as many of player mostly stair at the target area rather than aiming to the ball and this will make effect to the ball not hit at the centre of racket.
2. Are you firmly and correctly grabbing the racket, as it has direct effect to the ball direction.
3. When hit the ball, are you turn beside of the body to facing the net.
4. Are you too much lean forward to the ball direction after follow through strike
5. Before you hit the ball, you seem to wait for the tennis ball to contact racket or you seem to start to swing racket immediately after you see it. My point is the quicker you raise the racket to hit the ball, the better chance and ability to control the ball direction and power.
6. Are you too hurry to return the shot from opponent? Some time if to early return the shot before considering which way you aim to hit the ball to, you may lose opportunity to focus on the point that you opponent has least chance to defence.
7. Are you always confident in every shot that you take. Whether those shot will be return shot, backhand short, forehand short you have to be confident before launching. Lack of confident may effect to the quality of the shot, may b because of you have to take the shot by back hand or in difficult aspects.
8. Addressing is very important, the position where you stand to be ready or the posture all relevant factors that effect to the quality of the shot. You have to be firmly stand and in the same time should be very flexible, ready to return opponent's serve. The good example is you should not stand on both feet by equally transmitting weight to both feet. In stead, stand on your toe tips and be ready to move freely and keep footworking.

From what I suggest below, they will help you to improve and develop skills that need for your play. The secret is very simple, keep trying and practicing as much as you can , because enough training will make you gain more skills. It would be excellent of you have trainer or someone who experience in tennis keep monitoring what you did during the play. They will help you to find your weakness.
