Wedding Favors are all too often an overlooked detail left to the last minute and very often thrown together or not even used at all due to a limited budget. When people think about favors, the first thing that comes to mind is usually spending a ton of money on guests, or spending hours making your own favors, that usually don't turn out nearly as good as they looked on the box. Don't fret, brides-to-be. Today I will go over just a few simple tips on making your favors a simple, affordable, and appreciated part of any wedding that guests will cherish. 1. Stay within your budget- Brides usually spend a lot of their time creating a wedding in their head a lot larger than they even want to have. Although I'm sure every guest would love to receive IPODS and Gucci Watches as their favors, that would put a huge dent in your pocket, which you could be using on your amazing honeymoon. Wedding Favors are a token of appreciation to your guests- so keep them simple, sweet, and within your budget. For less than $100, you can get customized shot glasses, engraved key chains, and several items that your guests will love. The best part, is they look a lot more expensive than they are. Aim for a gift the appears to be thoughtful and costly, without it actually being so. Do your research and find the best deals, then enjoy your extra savings and happy guests. 2. Think simple, with style- Your Maid of Honor is sure to never speak to you again if she's forced to spend hours assembling your cheap, over-decorated trinkets that will be left behind by almost every guest. Don't do that to your friends, or your guests. There are so many details you need to worry about, way-too-ornate wedding gifts are certainly not one of them. Look for simple, worry free favors- custom printed glasses, simple martini favors with a few pieces of candy in them, take-home centerpieces- all things you can order in just a few minutes and not have to handle are things you should get. There's no reason to spend so much time on favors when there are plenty of easier solutions out there. Go simple, but be sure that it's stylish as well! 3. Make sure your guests will actually WANT your wedding favors- Nothing is more disheartening than seeing your wedding aftermath littered with unwanted gfits. Many Brides get so wrapped up in the "cute" factor, that they spend money on favors that their guests would clearly have no interest in taking home with them. I heard of one couple giving their guests temporary tattoos of the bride and groom's pictures. Really? Temporary Tattoos of your face? These favors were not only the biggest waste of money, but were sure to be used in plenty of jokes during the reception. When choosing your wedding favors- please think about what your guests will actually appreciate. Great gift ideas are coffee mugs, shot glasses, picture frames, things guests will want to take home and keep (either to have as a memory of your wedding, or to reuse for themselves). Ask your bridesmaids what they think about your favors before splurging on silly, useless items. For all brides-to-be, don't stress over your wedding favors any longer.
