By: Dr. Mital John Home | Health-and-Fitness

When you feel run down and tired constantly, there's a good chance you need to build up your immune system. Here are a few things that just might help you. As always, if you have allergies or any kind of food intolerance, consult your doctor before trying any things that are new to you - especially herbal supplements! Herbs all have positive and negative side effects - even if "Natural"! Even nightshade and arsenic are natural.

A strong immune system is vital to living healthy life. In fact, it's so significant that without a solid immune system, you or I would not be able to benefit from the life we live right now. If I told you that a special remedy existed that could strengthen your immune system and allow you to fight off colds and flu would you buy it? You might if I was able to prove to you without a doubt that it worked. I'm glad to say that I do have a remedy that works and it's free.

A healthy immune system has an important job to fight off disease causing substances such as bacteria and viruses that can make us ill. Since the best action to take in fighting illnesses is preventive care, here are some ways to boost immune system efficiency in order to help prevent flu, cold, and other viral or bacterial related illnesses.

â€Vitamin C: -Study shows that vitamin C supplements have a beneficial impact on the serum levels of IgA, IgM, and C3, in effect strengthening some important parts of our body's immune system. Vitamin C intake also helps to increase the virus-fighting cytokines that helps to validate the popular assumptions about vitamin C having effect on the immune system.
â€Vitamin B6: -Vitamin B6, through its involvement in protein metabolism and cellular growth is important to the immune system. It helps maintain the health of lymphoid organs that make your white blood cells. Studies show that a vitamin B6 deficiency can decrease your antibody production and suppress your immune response.
â€Vitamin A: - Vitamin A is found in colorful fruits and vegetables. It has properties of antioxidants that help to protect cells from free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of oxygen metabolism that may contribute to the development of a weakened immune system.
â€Vitamin E: -Vitamin E enhances the production of B-cells, the immune cells that produce antibodies to destroy bacteria. Study shows that vitamin E helps to stimulate the production of natural killer cells, those that seek out and destroy germs and cancer cells.
â€Vitamin D: -Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in very few foods. It is also produced endogenously when ultraviolet rays from sunlight strike the skin and trigger vitamin D synthesis. Vitamin D is antioxidants. It is very important to our health, including modulation of neuromuscular, immune function and reduction of inflammation.
