By: Dr. Manu Modi Home | Health-and-Fitness | Dental

One of the vital aspects of oral dental care is bad breath that people consistently complain about. Some of the easiest recommended procedures to prevent and minimize the problem of bad breath are:

It is advised to brush twice daily with a good toothpaste and specially the ones containing fluoride as it prevents the plaque formation and gives healthy teeth. While brushing, one must clean along the gums and should also clean the tongue.

Visiting the dentist at least twice a year and getting the teeth cleaned from them with various techniques is a better solution.

Flossing the teeth at least once in a day will remove the sticking food particles and will thus prevent bad breath. Decayed food in mouth is a big reason for bad breath.

Avoiding foods and drinks that cause bad breath is always the best option specially for avoiding the alcoholic drinks. Tobacco is another cause of bad breath.

Bad breath can also be prevented by taking lot of fruits and avoiding fleshy things in diet.

It is also observed that dry mouth often leads to bad breath so drinking a lot of water will be a good way that will not only avoid bad breath but is also excellent for health. In such case, some sugar free or refreshment mints can be taken to avoid such problems.

People have a misconception that mouthwashes help in preventing bad breath. However it not completely fake but mouthwashes usually do not give long lasting effect and therefore it is recommended by the dentists to at least swirl the mouthwash for 30 seconds in mouth before finally spitting it.

People with some replaceable dentures and braces are recommended to remove them during night. Cleaning and brushing them will keep away the bad breath. Preserving them in a good Disinfectant is the best way to avoid bad breath related to dentures.

In case the person has long problem of bad breath, it is prudent to consult a good dentist.

So, choose the best dentist to get good health.
