How To Rent A Toronto Mover

By: Clint Jhonson Home | Home-and-Family

If you live in Canada, just got a new job with a better pay, higher responsibilities, less vacation, more working hours, more people to manage or boss around, but no time to move your things yourself. You have to be at the new office in Toronto on Monday morning, got only a weekend to relocate and of course your family can't help you that much. The simplest and more efficient solution is to call the Toronto movers. But how can one rent them? Check the yellow pages and get the number from a company that can move your things in an organized manner and in a fashionable time limit.

Call them and tell them what you need and when you need the job done. Ask for rules they have about packing things, insurance because you can never be too cautious about your things, when they can come and pick up your things and how soon can they reach the new destination. You need to get yourself mentally prepared for this job. Even if others are doing it for you, remember you are still the one that needs to pack it all. So get used to the idea that your moving operation is going to have its ups and downs. A few essential things you need are patience, lots and lots of boxes, duct tape, ropes and marking pens. Though you might think writing down on a piece of paper the content of each box and sticking it to the box is a waste of time, you will be thankful to yourself when you get to your new house and get to find your things easier.

If you have time and get the chance before the Toronto movers come to pick up your things, that is if you have a few days to pack, you can also sort through your things and throw away things you wanted to put to waste long time ago. You can ask your kids to make a selection between their clothes, toys, books and tell them that if they do it the can sell the things they do not need or want anymore and keep the money. If you are convincing enough they will do a good part of your job. But you still have your things, his things and the general household things, plus at least a part of the furniture if not all of it.

Before you start packing your things make sure you asked the Toronto movers about any moving rules they might. Rules like the furniture should be emptied and tied up so nothing falls or hurts anyone," are good to know before packing. Remember that it is better to ask a Toronto mover all you want to know even if it might seem that you have a stupid question, than get a fine later or who knows what else. Big things with shelves and drawers like the fridge or things that are fragile like a television set or a computer need special packaging so make sure you have enough bubble wrap for your dishes and glasses and other breakable things too.

Don't forget that your luggage can be a good storage place now, so try to use all your pieces of luggage even if you put only last moment things in them. Try to get your boxes organized by the things you had in each room it is going to be easier for you when you unpack and make sure you ask at least one Toronto mover to take care about the order they take the boxes in so you minimize the risk of mixing your things completely. If you can not carry your valued things with you in your car, make sure you know exactly where you put them and try to insure at least those boxes if not the entire shipment. It is better to prevent then to regret it later. And even though you trust a Toronto mover to do his job the right way, accidents can happen.

If you do not show your moving company or all the items you want to move or you do not at least mention them, you might have to pay for them in case they get damaged. Also please note that most of the moving companies will not ship any materials that can put the shipment, the employers or the other people involved in traffic in danger. Food or plants or other perishable things are also not on the allowed list of things in a shipment because of the risk of getting someone exposed to some kind of infections or dangerous bacteria.
