It is also a fairly stable position and usually people can maintain it for a fairly long period of time. The gun has to be held at level with the eye. The crouching position is effective when you have to suddenly stop moving and yet remain ready to run at any moment. To lower yourself, you may bend forward but you should always hold the gun against your shoulder. Though this is the ideal position to start running, some people stand upright and then run. This is pointless because it is easier to start sprinting without standing. This start will give you more acceleration. However, you should remember that it is not possible to maintain this position for very long. The standing position is used in cases where the distance between the shooter and the target is high.
