How To Stop Or Slow Down Hair Loss Naturally

By: Charles Zoe Home | Health-and-Fitness | Beauty

Are you worrying about your hair falling out or that it might fall out in the future? To prevent hair loss naturally you will need to find home remedies using readily available foods and products. The process doesn't have to be difficult just follow these steps to avoid thinning hair or baldness.

1. Too much salt can slow hair growth. How do you get too much salt? If you aren't intimate friends with your salt shaker, the answer could be too much stress. Stress naturally increases sodium retention. So chill out!

2. Hair is primarily made of protein and, therefore, it makes sense to eat a protein-rich diet if you’re trying to maintain your healthy hair. However, eating a steak every day isn’t going to help you. High-fat diets will result in increased testosterone levels, which has been linked to hair loss -- so steaks are not among the foods that prevent hair loss. Stick to leaner proteins such as fish (which has a myriad of health benefits beyond just maintaining your hair), chicken, calf’s liver, brewer’s yeast, low-fat cheese, eggs, almonds, beans, and yogurt.

3. Make sure that your hair is always clean. You should regularly use shampoo and conditioner. There are even some great natural shampoos like juice of ripe soap nut and black gram powder which work wonderfully.

4. Prepare a concoction of coconut milk and aloe vera gel. Make it an equal parts mixture. Then apply to your scalp and allow it to soak for a half an hour or so before washing it out. Repeat up to 3 times a week.

5. Adding more iron to your diet doesn’t mean you have to feast on liver day in, day out, but when you’re craving something sweet, remember that dried fruits (like raisins) and cherry juice are packed with iron. Eggs; dates; raisins; dark green, leafy vegetables such as kale; and whole-grain cereals are all high in iron. Vitamin C improves the absorption of iron, so fruits such as oranges, strawberries and lemons should be on your grocery list of foods that hair loss treatment.

6. Apply fenugreek seed paste to the scalp a few times a week for about a half hour each time. This can reduce hair loss.

7. The metal copper controls hair growth and hair loss. Individuals metabolize copper at different rates, making copper toxicity or deficiency a personal affair. The slower your metabolic rate, the higher your copper retention, regardless of how copper gets into your system. The reverse is also true. If your metabolism works at mach speed, not much copper will accumulate, no matter the amount of copper you ingest.

8. One of the most important vitamins that help with thinning hair is iodine. However, it can't be just any other type of iodine; there is a specific type that particularly affects the growth of your hair. In fact, too much of the generic type of iodine can actually cause further hair loss. This is why you need to be very careful when it comes to taking this vitamin.
