If you have been thinking about giving away tote bags and other promotional items, now is the time to do it. The spring, summer and fall seasons are ideal for advertising with promotional products. How so? There are limitless opportunities for you to meet potential customers and give away your branded items.

The following are marketing strategies that you can use to advertise your business and give away promotional products:

Raffles, door prizes and auctions †There are always fundraisers during the summer months which present the perfect opportunity for you to give away your promotional items. Advertising through fundraisers is multi-faceted. First, your branded products will be given away as prizes or sold in gift baskets. The people who receive your items will use them and others will see your logo and promo items. Secondly, your business will be announced at the event. Thirdly, your business will probably be included in the advertising campaign of the event itself. For example: Such and such event sponsored by YOU. These ads may be in print, on the radio or on television.

Fair and bazaar booths †Booths are a great way to give away your promotional tote bags. The attendance at such events is usually quite high; there may be thousands of people walking past your booth. Promotional giveaways will draw people to your booth. When they stop by, you can talk to them about your products and services. If you choose to give away totebags, you can put other items in the bags such as pens, pads, magnets and coupons.

Guerilla marketing †Promotional items are ideal for guerilla marketing, the type of advertising where you attract people to your business right off the street. You can hand out promotional items such as totebags, mugs, pens, pencils, magnets and key chains along with coupons that are good for that day only. Once someone patronizes your business and uses a coupon, you can hand out retention or bounce back coupons.
There is literally no end to the ways that you can advertise with promotional items. And promotional products are less expensive than other forms of advertising. Just thinkâ€For the price of one newspaper ad, you could hand out hundreds of promotional items that keep on advertising as long as they are being used. The life of a newspaper is usually one day. Promotional items such as totebags, on the other hand, keep on advertising for years.

So, if you are not including promo products in your summer marketing campaign, you need to make some changes. Earmarking a small portion of your advertising budget and using it to purchase promos will boost your business more than you can possibly imagine.
