How To Write A Great Introduction

In order to write an excellent essay, one needs to know how to write an essay with a great introductory paragraph. Most importantly, an introduction needs to explain what the paper will be about. To write essay with a great introduction you must first start with the thesis statement; this is the most important part. The thesis statement should define to the reader what direction the paper is going and what point you are making. After defining the thesis sentence, construct a several meaningful sentences leading up to your idea in the thesis sentence. After you write those sentences, go back and re-write your first sentence as this sentence should be an attention-grabber for your readers. The formula for writing a great introduction is to construct your thesis statement, write several sentences leading up to your essay, and go back to the first sentence and word it so that it starts the essay off interestingly.
In all the steps on how to write an essay, the thesis statement is the most important. This is because the thesis statement not only explains what the rest of the essay will be about, but because it will also give you a direction to follow when you write the body of the essay. The more detailed and specific the thesis, the easier it is to write essay. Once the thesis statement is clearly written, the introduction will start to fall in place.
After writing the thesis sentence, write several sentences that continue to lead up to the point that you made in your thesis. For example, in this essay my thesis sentence was, â€The formula for writing a great introduction is to construct your thesis statement, write several sentences leading up to your essay, and go back to the first sentence and word it so that it starts the essay off interestingly.†Now the direction of the paper is laid out: the three main topics will be the thesis statement, the sentences that lead up to the thesis, and the importance of the first sentence. The four sentences that precede the thesis are all about these three topics. The only thing left to write a great introduction is to write the first sentence in such a way to pique the interest of the reader.
When you write essay, it is imperative that you write the first sentence so that it invites the reader to continue on. There are several types of interesting first sentences. One way to write a first sentence is to use a definition; I myself used that approach in my second sentence of this essay. Another idea is to use a fact which is what I did in this essay. Yet another idea for a first sentence is to use a quotation. Picking any one of these themes to use in your first sentence will encourage the reader to finish reading your essay.
The way to write a great introduction is to write your thesis statement first. Remember the more specific your thesis, the easier it is to write the body of your essay. Write several sentences that lead up to the thesis, making sure they help to enforce the point you are making. Finish by writing the very first sentence of your write essay using a definition, fact, or quotation. When learning how to write an essay, remember these steps in order to write a great introduction.
