Huawei is a leading telecom brand that independently entered the Indian cell phone market recently. Earlier huawei phones were sold through their business partners, but now this Chinese company plans to sell its products directly through exclusive retail chain. With the ingress of Huawei mobile phones and the range of cheap cell phones designed for the masses, the competition in the already packed mobile phone market has become stiffer. Huawei mobile phones are categorised in the UMTS, GSM/GPRS and the CDMA series. In the UMTS series, there are 18 models. The huawei U8300 and U8500 android phones are among the cheapest and latest huawei phones. These phones have a QWERTY keypad and a touchscreen for convenience of the users. Both the U8300 and the U8500 support 3G, GSM networks and are designed for Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity. Camera, LED display, high speed internet surfing and incorporation of popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter make these devices a hit among the young guns. Other phones in the UMTS section are the 3G enabled U8110, U7520, IDEOS, U3200, U1280, U3100, U8220, U8230, U3310, U1000, U1100, U3300, U1310, U7310, U121 and U120. The Huawei U9130 Hangout is based on QUALCOMM Brew OS. It has a big colour screen and QWERTY keypad. This 3G enabled handset also has standard features like GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and A-GPS. Social networking and email connectivity are other specifications that make this phone very desirable. In the category of GSM/GPRS phones there are 19 models like the G6620, G5730, G6600, G7007, G5010, T710, G2200, T210, T520 T521 T202, T201, T330, T161L, T211, T261, T208 T158 and T156. The models have features like MP3 player, FM Radio bluetooth connectivity, cameras, expandable memory etc to name a few. The company has not specified the battery life of the phones but claims of a stamina battery. The CDMA series has 24 models each having specific features besides the standard features. Models like the M228, M750 M328, C2802, C2288, C2905, C2860, C5330, M318, C260e, C228s, C210e, C208s, C2801, C2800, C3308, C350e, C5005 and C2601 are available in the CDMA category. Of these the Huawei C5600 phone stands apart from the rest. The phone is designed on the OMH platform that gives the users the convenience of changing the CDMA network. Regular features like FM radio, audio-video players, colour display, camera and expandable memory are also incorporated in selected models. One can choose according to one’s needs and budget. Huawei cheap mobile devices are loaded with many features but are light on the pocket. The features and the affordability of the mobile phones might give a tough time to many brands.
