Hypnosis To Stop Smoking: You Can Give Up Those Cigarettes For Good With Hypnosis

By: Star Smith Home | Health-and-Fitness

There's enough evidence out in the open now that links cigarette smoking with cancer, lung disease and other illnesses. Each year, more and more people vow that they will give up their smoking habit once and for all. While this is a good move for their health, the reality is that the nicotine contained in each cigarette is habit forming, and unfortunately, makes it really hard for the average smoker to just up and quit.

There are several gums, patches and pills on the market that are sold as anti-smoking aids, and while these products help many people to quit smoking, they do not help everybody. If you are one of those people who were not able to successfully quit using one of the above methods, you may now be looking for a credible alternative in hypnosis therapy.

Many people are using hypnosis to help them to finally find success in giving up cigarette smoking once and for all. When a lot of people think of hypnosis, they think of the wacky entertainment variety that makes people walk like chickens. The good news is that hypnosis is also a serious clinical aid that uses gentle suggestion to influence a positive behavior.

Hypnosis works on your subconscious, which is a very influential part of the brain. Our subconscious often influences us to think negative thoughts, but it can also be trained to think positive thoughts. Hypnosis is successful because it plants deep-seated suggestions into your brain and when you are awake and going about your everyday business, you will begin to act on these suggestions.

Hypnosis for stopping smoking involves the hypnotherapist making suggestions to the quitting smoker, while they are in a completely relaxed state. There is no controlling the persons behavior or body movements. The smoker's subconscious brain will accept everything it is being told without questions.

The smoker will hear a soothing voice that will tell them that they no longer want to smoke. The voice will suggest, in a positive way, that cigarettes are no longer desirable or something that is needed for their lifestyle. When the smoker wakes up, they may still crave cigarettes from time to time, but he or she will feel a new lease on life and will not reach for a cigarette during those moments.

If you're thinking this is all a bit pie-in-the-sky, keep in mind that hypnosis has an 80% success rate when used to help people quit smoking. Whether you will have the same success in using hypnosis to help stop smoking, completely depends on whether or not you respond well to hypnosis and if you have a lot of motivation to quit smoking.

The good news is that you can get a quit smoking hypnosis CD or Mp3 download and listen to it again and again at home or while commuting to work. This will greatly improve your chances of being able to successfully kick the smoking habit for good.

Now, there's one more issue that many smokers have when it comes time to quit smoking. The gaining weight issue. This is a real fear for some people and it's been shown that after some people quit smoking, they do tend to put on a little weight. I think this is due to having to find a substitute for smoking that cigarette.

Giving up a cigarette addiction can be a real challenge by itself, so you don't want to add on a weight problem. If this is something that's bothering you, you can also use hypnosis to successfully deal with any weight problems you may have.

No matter what your fears or hesitations might be, I urge you to take the plunge right now and commit to a plan of action that can get you off those cigarettes. Life is short, so give yourself the gift of a longer life expectancy and a healthier mind and body.
