Does the above headline sound all too familiar? Probably the most common obstacle every affiliate marketing or internet marketing newbie encounters is information overload. Just what do I mean by this? If you're just starting out at affiliate marketing or this making money online thing, I'll bet that you are totally overwhelmed by the insane amount of information you're getting every day. Every affiliate marketing "guru" is telling you to do this, do that. Buy this product, purchase that software, etc. What happens is that you'll spend so much time reading and researching all the "stuff" that you end up not taking any action at all. Why? Because of information overload. Where do I start as an affiliate marketer? Where can I find the best affiliate marketing guide? There are so many things these affiliate marketing gurus say you need to do - that you'll be lost in a flooded sea of information. In the end, you have no idea where to start and hence, you will not take any action at all. So where do you really begin? What is that first step you need to do? I can tell you now that the first and foremost thing to do is of course to set up a website pertaining to your niche. After that, do these 2 things every day: 1. Write an article about your niche. Put your targeted keywords scattered throughout your article. However take extra care to make sure your article is rich in content and flows naturally. Don't write something like this just because you're targeting the keywords 'tennis shoes': "These tennis shoes are extremely a beautiful kind of tennis shoes that all other tennis shoes simply look dull when compared to these tennis shoes". Get the point? 2. Get a link to your website every day. Get other similar websites like yours to link to your site. Preferably you should get a high Google Page Rank (PR) of 5 or above to link to you. However when you're just starting out, it's very hard to get these kind of sites to link to you. That explains why you need to write an article every day. As months go by, you'll be surprised how content-rich your site will become. By filling your site up with useful content, other sites are more willing to link to you, even those high PR sites. For starters, you should find a site with a lower PR to link to you. Then as time goes by, slowly look for higher PR sites. I'll say it again: remember just these 2 things when you're suffering from information overload. 1. Write an article every day and upload to your site. Yes, just 1 article. 2. Get a link to your website every day. Yes, just 1 link. PS: When I say you should do only the above 2 things if you're experiencing information overload, I'm not telling you all other activities are not important. I'm just saying that these 2 things should by your top most priorities over anything else.
