If you are serious about wanting to live to a ripe old age and maybe age 100 or even beyond your are going to have to make some life style changes. A good healthy diet is an essential part of longevity by eating the right sorts of food your body has a much better chance of fighting illness, old age and disease. Simply put keeping well and avoiding illness and disease you will increase your life span significantly. It is known that smokers are more likely to contract cancer (the US's biggest killer today) so by avoiding smoking and even smokers you increase your risk of not contracting cancer. Skin cancers another problem in the US and much of the western world can also be avoided with a few simple precautions. We are all full of good intentions about how we want to change the things we know are bad for us and initially we are brimming with enthusiasm. But as time slips by we start to fall back to our old ways. We start to eat those junk foods again, we only grab the occasional glass of water rather than a recommended 10 cups a day and some people even abuse their bodies with smoking, booze and even drugs. So what does it take to get started going in the right direction and make those changes that can totally transform our lives? Action - that's all you need. Just a little action to get started doing one thing that will take you in the right direction to better health and a longer life. Once that initial step has been taken and you begin on the right path more positive steps will follow. You situation today is directly related to your belief system and how you reacted to those beliefs in the past. If you modify those beliefs you will experience different results with a better outcome. The life style changes required are often very small and don't involve any real discomfort- It might seem a daunting task but you can easily modify your current behaviours and still enjoy a full life. The big plus of course is as you improve your health you will have more energy to do much more. Commence an action plan now and in a few months and in the years ahead you be thinking back at how your life has evolved because of your actions today.
