Incorporating Wedding Feathers Into Your Wedding

By: Steven Barnhart Home | Home-and-Family

When many people think of wedding décor and accessories, ideas of lovely ribbons, flowers, and maybe even candlelight come to mind. Yet one of the most popular new trends to come about in recent years is to include wedding feathers as a decorative element in the big day. Basic decorating concepts tell you that including various textures can add incredible dimensions and make your area seem more elaborate and complete, so adding these lovely pieces to your wedding can serve to add a finished look to your celebration. Here are just a few of the different ways you can incorporate them into your special day:

Centerpieces.

It can be tough to decide what to place on top of your tables at the reception, and the good news is that wedding feathers are a truly excellent choice. You can find some already-prepared pieces online in the traditional white hue as well as in a host of other hues as well. Generally, these ready-made centerpieces that are comprised of real feathers from exotic birds can be pricey yet are incredibly gorgeous. You can also place loose pieces underneath a centerpiece of another variety such as a floral tabletop piece, candlelight, or something similar.

Bridal Party.

Wedding feathers are soft, feminine and completely beautiful, so it only makes sense that you may want to include them as accessories for your wedding party. They can be added to your big day as accessories for hair when your party visits the beauty salon. You can add accessories like hair pieces or even a lovely feather fan to their attire, too. Or you can keep the special touch all to yourself and include these decorative pieces in your own attire to give you that extra special feature you have been looking for.

Floral Arrangements.

With the unique features of wedding features, from large and exotic varieties to softer, fluffier options, wedding feathers are a perfect decorative accent to your floral bouquets and centerpieces. You can frame the lower section of the bouquets with them to give the bouquets a more romantic look, or you can have the florist interweave them into the different varieties of flowers you choose. If you are concerned that your floral arrangements and bouquets will look just like those at every other wedding you've been to in the last few years, adding this original feature can really create a lovely and unique talking point for your guests to be wowed by at your wedding.

A Unique Element.

While wedding feathers are becoming more and more popular at nuptial ceremonies these days, they are still a very unique element to include in a big day. You will find that you have a lot of freedom when it comes to incorporating them in a unique way into your décor by selecting from various colors, sizes, and shapes, and placing them in unique locations throughout the ceremony, reception, and even attire of your attendees, too. Because of all of the different ways you can incorporate them into your day, they can truly create a unique element to your celebration!
