Instow is a beautiful North Devon seaside village. The beach is sandy and very safe for children. The view from the beach is across the estuary to the picturesque fishing and artist village of Appledore. There are two pubs, a post office, and two great restaurants on the seafront (Decks and The Boathouse), art galleries, a post office and Johns of Instow, the most amazing village shop you will ever find. The beach is the heart of Instow and at Westfield you are right there. Instow is situated between the rivers Torridge and Taw having fantastic sceneries over the river on the way to Appledore but the village enjoys a much quieter life than before because of the introduction of a high level bridge situated over the Torridge River. In the Instow beach the sand is of fine flat quality and there is a plenty of space available for the beach games. But the rocks are not available but you can take shelter in the sand dunes. Cafes, toilets and pubs are just a short walk into the village. The Instow sands are situated at the gathering point of the Torridge and Torr Rivers thus it offers bathing much safer as compared to the sea in the open but without any surf, but you must be aware of the very strong river currents, therefore bathing at the low water surface is not suggested. Instow is a superb family destination which hosts many tourist attractions suitable for all ages. The village hosts a fabulous beach with tourist facilities and many restaurants and gift shops. There are several towns near Instow all within easy reach via very reliable bus services. Instow, which has a beautiful sandy beach with views over Appledore and the open sea is a five minute car journey from Bideford. Woolacombe and Croyde are all within a thirty minute journey for those who like to surf . The Instow Beach is a very long beach which is located on an estuary that is very famous for sailing and fishing and also the other beach activities. It is quite a sandy beach, which is backed by low sand dunes, located at the mouth of the rivers Torridge and Torr. When the tides are out it is quite pleasant to walk along the beachside by the river edge of the Torridge River with charming Appledore on the other side. Also there is car parking available in the village and also behind the dunes. So the self catering Instow makes an affordable treat and you will be feeling of a home away from home.
