Introduction For Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical
procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or
reduction surgery on the bone. Correcting your chin will balance the
relationship within the structure of the face. It requires good
aesthetic eyes. Many times a plastic surgeon may recommend chin surgery
to a patient having nose surgery in order to achieve facial proportion.
For that you need to choose your chin augmentation doctor carefully.


Things to do before and after the surgery:


1. do not's when you get chin augmentation done:

Eat or drink anything after midnight or in the
evening when your operation is on the next day morning.

Wear watches. Rings or any kind of jewelry or carry
large lumps of money.

Should not use any kinds of lotions and deodorants.


Perfumes and make up.


2. do's when you get chin augmentation:

Wash your hair with anti-bacterial soap morning of
surgery.

You should always be freshly scrubbed with your
instruction soap.

Should have clean and dry hair.

Should wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing.

Wear slippers.


Contact your surgeon if there is:
1. Uncontrollable pain

2. Some bad odor from your incision areas.

3. Blisters or implant extrusion

4. Displacement of the implant

5. Temperature is over 101 degree's.

6. Bleeding from your suture lines.

7. Pus or cloudy discharge from your treatment areas

8. Feeling like your going to faint.

9. Numbness or pain in your legs.


Things to do when it's a case of
complications (after you get chin augmentation done):



1. Stay calm- this will help you stay in your senses.

2. Always have your emergency numbers with you. Dial
them and contact your doctor.

3. Call your surgeon if your going to the hospital

4. Bring all your medications with you as you might
need them at what ever time.

5. Keep a bag packed just in case you will have to
stay there for a few days.

6. Keep a written journal of your symptoms and
complaints. Just in case you faint and doctors could still come to know
what you have been going through


After effects:


1. Numbness and loss of sensitivity.

There may be a loss of sensitivity or transmit pain or touch sensations
as there is swelling from the traumatic cutting. It will reduce in a
few weeks. Tingling sensation, itching are also common.


2. Swollen Chin.:

This happens as the chin is where all the cutting takes place.


3. Firm and bruised:

This is because there is swelling which is essentially caused due to
fluid retention in the tissues.


4. You might look like a pumpkin head.


5. depression:

This is a main effect that takes place after the surgery. Give it time
and everything will fall into place.
