Introduction To Group Violin Class In Singapore

By: Pamelina Siow Home | Arts-and-Entertainment

Violin is considered by many, to be the most beautiful musical instrument ever created by man. Playing it or listening to it makes one feel like he is touching the very essence of music.

Many people dream of playing the violin because of the romantic and historical appeal of this instrument. But before you sign up for a violin class it is better to read some information about violin education. So in this article we will try to answer three main questions:

What to expect? What will you get from the violin education? What to expect from violin lessons?

What to expect from violin lessons?

Expect work and practice to succeed. Violin is a complex instrument, but if you are patient and have a good violin teacher you will be impressed by the results. Another important thing that you will face in Group Violin Class in Singapore (this goes only for child violin classes) is the Suzuki violin method.

This method is somehow opposed to the traditional education and it focuses more on a general development of every player. Suzuki method is based on the basics of learning the language at the early age, so it focuses only for children around the age of 4.

If you are aiming to make your child a professional musician or you just know that he or she will master the violin faster then the rest of the class, it is better to stick to traditional education methods. But if playing this instrument is planned to be more of a hobby to your child then choose the Suzuki Method. It is of course a bit controversial, but in fact many people praise it for giving children a good education.

What will you get from the violin education?

Aside from acquiring the ability to play a unique instrument, you will also be equipped with reliable music skills. The basic knowledge you will acquire during the lessons will be a great help in mastering other music instruments in the future. Such education is a very good and useful basis if you plan on becoming a musician.

Professional violinists will always have good work prospects especially if they are hardworking and truly gifted. But Asian players have so much the advantage now because of the proliferation of brilliant Asian violinists who are products of good Asian mentors.

There are always work available for violinists, especially for the really talented players. Awards and recognitions are also now raining down on those specially gifted. For example an asian violinist recently won the biggest pop contest in Europe - the Eurovision.

What to expect during the violin education?

It is challenging however satisfying. Lots of people stop their education when they reach a certain point that requires additional effort. Some people get discouraged and just give up on the violin lessons. Every teacher will tell you that this is wrong, basically everyone can master a violin, and it all depends only on hard work and dedication.
