Ionized Water And Free Radicals

By: Bryan Franklin Home | Health-and-Fitness | Pollution

Recent research is touting the benefits of ionized water in fighting free radicals. Free radicals damage cells and have long been linked to a variety of conditions including premature aging, cancer, and heart disease. For years we’ve known that a diet rich in antioxidants effectively neutralizes and limits the negative effects of free radicals. What is exciting about ionized water is that it is a natural antioxidant that can be quickly absorbed into the bloodstream, promoting health and wellbeing almost immediately.

This is good news for all of us who, according to researchers at Louisiana State University, are at risk of developing serious medical conditions as a result of the free radicals in air pollution. The research team discovered that free radicals found in air pollution are persistent †meaning they survive for much longer than originally believed.

The researchers presented their information at the American Chemical Society’s annual meeting. They explained that the results of the study lead them to believe that once inhaled, these persistent free radicals damage lung tissue and could potentially lead to lung cancer, asthma, emphysema, and other diseases. Even more astounding, the researchers discovered that the cigarette tar and the free radicals in air pollution are nearly identical.

It seems that antioxidants are more important than ever in maintaining lasting health. For this reason, many in the health and wellness industry are investigating the healing properties of ionized water.

Ionized water has an extra electron, which changes the molecular shape of the liquid and causes it to feel smoother to the palate and more importantly, to neutralize the disease causing free radicals that roam the body.
