As we all know one of the most popular brands in the market as far as MP3 players go is the Ipod brand by Apple which manufactures computers and other high end peripherals, while their line of MP3 players is one of the best many music enthusiast want to have different options which would offer more flexibility as far as the type of media they are allow to import and carry with them. Today's digital world has overgrown the MP3 extension envelope and ventured in to many other formats in which other digital goods are distributed, this is the case of video in AVI, DIVX, MP4, MKV, WMV, MPG formats. If we had to choose popular formats for digital media distribution we would have to say that WMV, AVI and MPG are somewhat the standard, on their hand MKV extensions provide more flexibility but not all portable video players can reproduce the format. MKV provides the option to embed different audio and subtitle streams just like in any DVD. Apple players can reproduce many audio streams with no problem but when it comes to video the company came up with Audio/Video player hybrids which can handle both media streams, the Ipod Nano is a good example, however many people will not find it very convenient to watch full length movies using this tiny screen that's why the next step up would be an Iphone. The Iphone as we all know is the multimedia phone which was released last year in order to meet the demands of users who want to use more of the web's features through their phones, while it succeed to come on top of all other PDA phone types it also represented a major disadvantage for all of those users who are happy with their phone service and do not want to switch carriers just to get a multimedia phone. The video playback capabilities of this device exceed those found in the Ipod Nano, meaning that it can play video files of higher resolution on a larger-wider screen.
