Iphone With A New Sip Client- Getting Work Done Anywhere With Business Voip

By: Gen Wright Home | Computers-and-Technology

iPhones are a staple in today's corporate world, and now firms that employ VoIP for their communication service can use the iPhone in a great new way. A new app for the iPhone, iSIP, has been created to work alongside VoIP providers. Employees who get this app can transform their smartphone into an extension of their work phone number.

One of the many advantages of having VoIP for your company is that employees can be everywhere and still have access to their voicemail and use their work phone number. Workers who use laptops can get softphones, software programs that run on a computer, but offer the same functions as a deskphone. All you need is an accompanying headset. However, this new iSIP app has transformed the iPhone into a true extension of one's work phone, without having to rely on extra equipment.

Here's how it works. There are many Hosted PBX services today which essentially allow a company to outsource their entire communications system to a managed data center. All of the features of these hosted services are accessed over the Internet. Since the Internet is essentially everywhere, all you require is an IP phone to connect to the hosted pbx. There are many VoIP phones which look, feel and act like traditional corporate desk phones. Now, the iSIP is taking this a step further by practically turning the iPhone into an office phone.

Once you configure your iPhone to work with your firm's VoIP service, your iPhone will be an extension of your desk phone. You will be able to make and receive phone calls using your work phone number, keeping your privacy and projecting the impression that you are in the office, rather than the local Starbucks. As a true extension, you can dial 4-digit extensions of your colleagues and get calls from the virtual receptionist as well.

With this app on your iPhone, you can be all around the world and still be able to perform the same work as if you were sitting at your desk in the office.
iSIP transmits phone calls over the Internet, as VoIP is meant to do. Because of this, iSIP will only work in areas that have WiFi access. It does not work with the iPhone's cellular network. However, in today's tech-driven society, mostly everywhere has WiFi access!

With with the iPhone's ability to access work emails, iSIP will help change the iPhone into a valued and incredibly useful device for any hosted voip deployment.
