Have you noticed that your man is pulling away from you and you want to know how you can get him back? Does he seem distant at times or just not as into you as he once was? Are you worried that he is going to dump you or leave you for another woman? The truth is that men often do pull away in a relationship at different stages? Sometimes the reasons are quite innocent and at other times it can cast a dark shadow over your relationship and your life. Understanding why your man is pulling away and why men pull away can be helpful in getting your relationship back on track though. Life †Sometimes it truly is nothing to worry about if your man appears distant or it seems as if he is pulling away. It could be that he is thinking about work or family problems or it could be something as mundane as his fantasy football team that he is worrying about! He might not even know himself what is bothering him at any particular moment and often it really is nothing to worry about. Men are strange and the internal dialog that goes on inside their head can sometimes be embarrassing to discuss if you were telling him about your day and he was wondering what the dog was doing at that moment and worrying that he was in the trash again or some nonsense. Uncertainty †On the other side of the coin, it really could be that he is uncertain about your relationship. It could be that the passion has left your relationship and it could be that your man is pulling away because he is unsure about the future. At one time perhaps he was very affectionate and fun and there seemed to be a lot of chemistry between the two of you. Now as uncertainty sets in and you continue to be affectionate and playful and flirty he begins to become withdrawn. You worry that it’s something that you’re doing but the truth is that it is just his uncertainty that is making your affection making you appear needy and causing him to further withdraw. It can be a vicious cycle but not one without a remedy. Fear †As the uncertainty sets in so also does fear. He fears and becomes afraid of becoming emotionally attached to you. These two often go hand in hand and as things progress he may become very negative and distant. His fear of being trapped in a relationship will cause him to become hyper critical and the very things that he used to love (and that most guys love!) like affection and spending time together feel like a trap. The fun times that you spent together might seem almost forced and suddenly you have a man that doesn’t call like he used to and is now often busy with other plans. So what do you do when you feel your man pulling away? How can you get him to see that nothing has really changed and that you just want to have fun? Well, calling him on the carpet and demanding to know what’s up and where your relationship stands is a sure way to send your relationship plummeting down that hill and really freak your man out. Instead, if you are able to continue to hang with him and see him through this stage while he deals with his fears it is very possible for him to come out the other side as the man that you remember. Be reassuring and don’t push as you take it day by day without being demanding can show him that you’re not looking to trap him and someday soon the good times can return†the affection and attention that you grew fond of can return if you know how to handle when your man pulls away.
