Is Your Skin In Need Of Help?

By: Louise Forrest Home | Health-and-Fitness | Beauty

Skin care is such an important part of our lives, but quite often we do not really think about it. Would you let your heart or liver or kidneys go unchecked? Would you let them fill with harmful toxins, knowing that they are integral to your life? Would you let them dry to the point that they could not function properly? Of course you would not. You know that these organs are extremely important to your health, actually your life. You cannot function without any of these. People around the world are on transplant lists for each of these organs as your read this.

One organ that you absolutely cannot let go, but many people do not think of is your skin. Your skin is the largest and most protective organ in your body. It is also an organ that cannot be transplanted like the above organs can. You are given one birthday suit and it is your job to keep it functioning at its peak. Proper skin care, both inside and out, will help you in a million ways. The most obvious to most people is your appearance. Quite honestly, this is the least of what your skin is doing for you when it is able to function properly. When your skin is healthy, it is working to keep germs from entering your body and working to remove toxin from the body. These two things are extremely important to your overall health. In order to begin to get healthy skin, you have to start on the inside.

Ok, now that you know just how important your skin is, you may be wondering how you can help it function at its best. This is where a comprehensive inner and outer skin care regimen should be started. Before your read any further, go get yourself a nice glass or bottle of purified water (at least 8 ounces). Drink that as you read the rest of this and you will have already taken your first step to helping your skin from the inside. Internal moisture is essential to healthy skin and your have to give your body the fluid in order to have that internal moisture. You need to drink at least 64 ounces of purified water and/or natural organic juices every day to help your body moisturize and cleanse itself.

The second thing you need to do is check your eating habits. A balanced, healthy diet is vital to internal skin care. You are what you eat is one of the truest statements that I have ever heard. When you put the right balance of nutrients into your body, you get better results from it. If you eat healthy food, your healthy skin will show it. Keep the Omega 3 fatty acids in mind. We have essential fatty acids that our body must have and cannot produce. You must get your Omega fatty acids (the good fat) from the food you eat. With todays processes in food preparation (especially in processed foods), we are eating tons of Omega 6 fatty acids, but Omega 6 fatty acids are supposed to be balanced with Omega 3 fatty acids. You need to pay attention to your Omega 3 fatty acid intake in order to create a balance between these.

Third, you need to start an exercise program that increases your heart rate for at least 20 minutes. This will increase your circulation, which brings fluid to your skin cells and removes the toxins held within the skin cells. The perspiration that comes with exercise also pushes toxins and debris to the surface of your skin, making it easy to cleanse it away after your exercise. Do not feel bad if you ca not keep a vigorous exercise up for 20 minutes. Set smaller goals and move them up as you go. For instance, start with 7 minutes of exercise daily. When your body does this with ease, mover it up to 12 minutes and so on. If you make it too hard on yourself at the beginning, you are not as likely to make it a habit, so work your way into your exercise program and keep it for life. You will be amazed at what this internal skin care will do for your overall appearance when combined with plenty of fluid and a healthy diet.
