It Is Easy To Learn How To Write A Resource Box That Gets Read

By: Kenji Sakamoto Home | Writing-and-Speaking

Do you want to know how to write a resource box that gets read? Unfortunately many people don't put enough effort into this all-important component of the article.

It's a shame people short change the information in the resource box or don't know how to properly write one. This is prime advertising real estate at the end of your article that gives you the opportunity for promotion of: your product, your service and yourself.

One of the biggest mistakes many people make is that they fail to update their resource box frequently. Whether you have many changes in your life or very few, it's important to give your readers any new information.

The resource box is kind of like a classified ad or your business card. You're basically handing it out to everyone who reads your articles. But do they quickly look at it and "throw it away?" Or are they interested enough to actually read it?

You don't have a lot of space for useless information so you need to come up with an attention grabber. People want to know about your expertise so there's nothing wrong with including a title with your name. Just don't overdo it because titles can also be a turn off.

And then there are the things you're promoting. Make sure that the links are correct and current. Have you added more products that are not included in your resource box?

How do you present yourself? It's imperative that you come across helpful and friendly and not too much like a salesperson. The perception you're trying to achieve is that you can assist with whatever problems the readers have and you may just have the product to help them.

The trick is that you've got to do this briefly. If you're unsure how to write a resource box that gets read and has the proper effect, take a look at several articles by different authors and borrow from the best examples.

Also work in any FREE offers you have. The sooner you do this in the resource box the better. Readers will be more likely to click on your links if you can include things that are valuable or unique.

Make sure that you always direct readers to your landing page or website first. You want to be able to capture the names of your visitors. Most directories allow at least 2 URL links in your resource box.

Don't forget to ask for the "Call to action." You must encourage the reader to "Act Now" or "Don't miss out" or "See how our product can help you" etc.

You have to think of your resource box as your 30 second advertisement with you asking for the sale at the end. People tend to respond only when asked or directed.
