Italian Courses In Rome

Deciding to take Italian courses in Italy is really the only way to go. And when selecting the city to get your Italian education in, Rome is top notch. Rome is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. There is so much to see when you come to Rome that an extended stay is probably the best bet. That is why it is such a good idea to take Italian courses in Rome.

The Italian language is what the majority of people in Rome speak, although you may find deviations from formal Italian as many residents speak a type of Roman slang. The Roman slang is similar to the formal version of the language and should be easy to understand by anyone who speaks Italian. English is also widely spoken in Rome.

It is worth going to Rome for its historical landmarks alone. In fact, Rome considers them to be of such importance the each year in May they take week and charge no admittance to all public landmarks and historical sites. Rome is also the choice destination for Christians as Vatican City is the home of the Pope and the nerve center of the religion. There are over 900 churches located in Rome and many are worth visiting including St. Peter’s Basilica, the Basilica of St. John Lateran, and the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls. For those into some of the more gothic history of the city, the Catacombs of Rome are the place to go. Rome is great for tourists who love to wander around and their piazzas are perfect for gorgeous fountains, relaxation, people watching, and simply enjoying the atmosphere. For those interested in ancient history, the Colosseum and the Pantheon are a must. The Historical Group of Rome even runs a gladiator school. When in Rome make certain to try some of the local specialties. Pizza is often a dinner course as the wood burning stoves takes all day to heat and for ice cream lovers trying a gelato in Italy is a must. If you like to go clubbing, check out Testaccio.

There are so many varied reasons for visiting Rome from religious interests, historical significance to modern European tourism. The city is quite the tourist destination; the 3rd most visited in the EU, and is a great spot for taking learning Italian.
