The matchmaking service attracted so much attention that the press soon caught on and its existence was publicised the world over. UK speed dating soon took off and became as big an industry as it was in the USA. UK speed dating has been boosted by the fact that speed dating as appeared on a number of TV shows, including The Bill and Sex and the City.
