Munnar is the misty hill station located in Idukki district of Kerala. It is a tourist’s paradise that is blessed with enchanting natural delights. This exotic hillstation is situated about 2000meters above sea level. Munnar is reaching its peak of familiarity through the massive Kurinji bloom happens once in twelve years and this will attract a large crowd for a Kerala tour to this heavenly landscape. The main habitat of this plietesial plants are the hills surrounding Munnar and it is a symbol of bio-diversity of the Western Gaut of Kerala. Rajamala wildlife sactuary in Munnar is the natural habitat of Niligiri tahr. This is a rare mountain goat and half world population of this rare species is concentrated in this region. The whole park is composed of mounts, beautiful meadows and greenish valleys. Also the highest peak in South India, Anaimudi is the part of this pulchritudinous landscape. The total number of Niligiri Tahrs in sanctuary is estimated to be over 1300. The visitors can see these friendly animals very near and those are fearless in the lap of their mother land. Also the rolling grasslands and high level shoals is making Munnar as a breathtakingly beautiful mountain ranges.

Marayoor, is location near Munnar and a rain shadow village at the eastern side of Western Ghats and it is the only place in Kerala with a natural growth of sandalwood trees. It is a pristine, heavenly and unexplored tourist spot. This place is an excellent trekking spot for adventure tourism. In your Munnar tour, driving through the hill station roads is bringing an outlandish scenario of lush green tea plantations, surfing water falls, sea of sandalwoods, dancing cane crops in wind etc to your eyes. Also we can see the monuments of Neolithic period, â€Muniyaras’. These are the cave like structures resting on vertical rocks and made by stone slabs.

Munnar is very famous for eco tourism. The silver clouds roaming greenish mountains and valleys, very beautiful down pore clear and chilly waterfalls,
charming scene providing lake areas and dry deciduous forests having habitats of rare species, these all making Munnar as an easily comparable hill station to the best mountain ranges found anywhere in the world.
