It is best that we can come to an understanding regarding the nature of those cells that our clinicians determine to be "cancerous" and how the behaviour of those cells impacts on our lives . I use the word "lives" quite deliberately here and not the singular because the very diagnosis of this illness , makes a vast impact on the people around us - our friends and family . It is an unfortunate fact that the very word cancer, carries with it an implicit warning of our mortality . Indeed, many among us have a pre-conceived notion that a diagnosis of cancer is a pre-determined announcement of impending death. This notion, I have observed, is quite common until such diagnosis becomes personal, where-upon an almost instantaneous determination to live comes about. Here are some ways to prevent cancer : 1. High fiber foods are essential for cancer prevention . Fiber can help decrease the risk of cancer. Start consuming foods that are high on fiber such as fresh vegetables, fruit and grains regularly. 2. As much as possible, avoid obesity . Research shows that obesity increases the risk of cancer, especially breast, uterus, colon, kidney and gall bladder cancers. 3. Consume foods containing vitamin A and C such as vegetables like broccoli and fruits like bananas, oranges, papayas, tomatoes, and mangoes. These foods are rich in antioxidant and can help prevent esophagus, larynx, lung and stomach cancers. Here are some of the top cancer fighting foods for daily juicing. #1. Spinach - Leafy greens like spinach, kale, romaine lettuce etc contain folate and other compounds that have been proven to kill cancerous growths. For best effect, wrap a handful of spinach in a romaine lettuce leaf before putting it into the juicer . 3 of these gives me about 3 ounces of super concentrated green juice. Drink daily. #2. Carrots - One study found that carrots cut the risk of cancer by 1/3 .
