Latest Information About L-carnitine

By: bethturpincx Home | Health-and-Fitness

L-Carnitine is a nutrient which helps the body to turn fat into energy. It is generally produced by different organs of the body such as the liver and kidneys. It is generally stored in the skeletal muscles, heart, brain, and male sperm. It is a well known thing that the body can make all the carnitine it needs but exceptions are always there as there are people who are deficient in carnitine. These people suffer from this deficiency as their bodies cannot make enough carnitine or transport it into the tissues to be used. There are also many various factors that can cause carnitine deficiency such as angina or intermittent claudication. L-Carnitine deficiency can also result from various medications also.

It has generally been proposed as a treatment for many conditions. There are many serious cases which L-carnitine can treat. In those cases supplements should be taken only under the supervision of a well known doctor as an adjunct therapy to other conventional medicines. But in other general cases such as fatigue or improving exercise performance, one can easily take carnitine as it does not have that much effect in cases of low doses.

There are many cases in which low sperm counts have been linked to low carnitine levels in men. This has been found out from several studies. The people hence suggest that L-carnitine supplementation may increase sperm count as well its mobility. Also if you suffer from kidney diseases the level of L-carnitine may be low as it is a place that stores it. Hence having supplements may help but again, don’t take it without doctors supervision.
