Making recycled paper is fun and exciting, you need to first make a list of the things that you need for this project. Here is how you can make your own recycled paper: Things you need :: - Used papers, scrap paper or newspapers - An electric blender - A medium sized bucket - A measuring cup - water - One square pan, which is almost 8 cm deep - A Deckle. (You can also use a piece of window screen as your deckle. Make sure the window screen fits inside the square pan) - An iron or a rolling pin - Clean towels - Vegetable scraps or dye for coloring Once all the ingredients are in place making your own recycled paper becomes easy. The first step is to tear the used and scrap papers into bits and pieces and soak them for about thirty minutes in the bucket, filled with hot water. After the soaked scrap papers become soggy then put the whole thing into the blender and mix it, till the mixture is soft, fluffy and creamy. If you want to make the recycled paper colorful then you can add vegetable scraps or dye into the mixture as natural coloring agents. Now pour the melded pulp into the measuring cup and at the same time add around 3cm of water into the square pan. Place the window screen inside the pan and then start pouring the paper pulp onto that screen. The next step is to spread the pulp in the water. Use your fingers to spread the pulp evenly in the water. If the pulp feels mushy then you are indeed on the right track. Try now to slowly lift up the screen, while keeping it straight. Once you free the screen from the mixture, drip off the excess water from the screen. Try to keep the face of the screen down and place it on the clean towel. Now lift the screen and let the paper pulp rest there on the towel. Cover the pulp with another towel and iron the paper pulp to finish the drying process as well as to flatten it. Leave the flat sheet of paper for another twenty four hours to dry out completely. Once dried, your new recycled eco paper is now ready to use. Use this handmade recycled paper to make greeting cards or to write a letter to your friend to teach him how to make recycled paper.
