When you first start playing a new instrument, you may be filled with many emotions. Whether you are feeling nervous on the day of your first lesson, anxious because you can't wait to show off your new skills to your friends, or joyful because you are now finally able to be taught an instrument, you need to keep a few things in mind. If the instructor is not physically present and you are learning from a DVD set, then make the room as quiet as possible so you can fully understand what is being taught. Courses bought via the net are for serious learners and do a great job of teaching. If you are new to guitar and have zero skill, don't let that bother you. If you are timid of taking lessons with another person, the course by Steve Krenz and crew may be just right for you. Do not go for a course that is just reading, or just audio, or just video. You need a combination of all three aspects in order to learn at the best of your ability.
