So you finally made it! You worked out the bids, positioning, keywords and market research. Also you are a couple of steps ahead of the pack as you have taken advantage of Google's keyword research tools. Looks like your advertising promotions are all set for the next 6 months. Is there anything left to do? Do not think you are finished because your work has just begun. Tracking your ads is your number one priority. When you do this you will be able to gage the actual productivity of each ad and ensure maximum performance. You can do this in a variety of ways. Adwords will help you with this as it has a tool to show you the exact amount of traffic an advertisement is drawing. You can also do this with tools on your website. From these results you can calculate how many leads and sales were produced by a single advertisement. It is critical to do this as an Adword campaign that is not working can cost you money. A failing campaign will stop you from focusing on the ads that are working, will produce useless leads, and be a complete waste of money. It is always good to keep in mind that you will be paying for your ad even if it is unproductive. So what do you do with a failing ad? If you have positioned it correctly and it is being seen in the first 5-10 pages you might want to look at the keywords. It is a great temptation to use a popular keyword to draw in more traffic to the ad. This is based on the concept of supply and demand. Unfortunately frequently searched keywords are not always targeted for your specific market. They are the keywords that searchers begin their search with but not necessarily the ones that will bring potential customers to your website. You will have to strike a happy medium between general keywords that draw the crowds and keywords that are more specialized and will bring in the sales. To be successful with your Adwords campaign, you will need to keep a close eye on it. Of course the success or failure of your campaign will have an important impact on your business. Be sure to pay detailed attention to the management of your campaign to ensure the ongoing success of your business.
