Lebron James-- The Story Of A King With No Crown -yet

By: Stephen Lars Home | Recreation-and-Sports | Basketball

There is no question about it, LeBron James will probably win this years’ NBA MVP award. He might very well be the most athletic, clever, powerful, multi-talented player out there. One could say he is among to top three players to have ever played this game. He has won many personal awards, Rookie of the Year, MVP, All-Star game participations, ESPY’s. He is one of the only players to have received a $90M endorsement before he even made his first shot as a professional. A look at his bona-fides just makes you wonder what was that his mother feed him while he was growing up.

King James, as he has been known since his Junior year in High School, is responsible of scoring little over 32% of the Cleveland Cavaliers team’s points. You should see the way betting odds and wagering spreads move around drastically if there is the slightest chance LeBron might be missing a game. He is as focused and energetic as NBA players can get. And not only does he has the ability to slam-dunk like one of the best, but when he takes does fast-paced steps towards the rim, it looks like nothing can get on his way. Just browse around YouTube, and you will find enough proof of this.

Lebron was making the cover of Sports Illustrated, SLAM and ESPN the magazine, by the time he was a Junior at High School. Many NBA players came to see his state-league High School games. Among the luminaries, you could count his actual teammate Shaquille O’Neal. Perhaps they wanted to know what all they hype was about, why was this kid getting more media coverage then 95% of the Pro Players. Perhaps they just wanted to know what they would have to deal with in a matter of a few more months. Some of his high-school games were nationally televised by ESPN2.

So much attention was been drawn into St. Vincent †St. Mary High School basketball team, that they were forced to move practices from their local gym to the University of Akron facilities.

On his Rookie Season, LeBron James made it to the Cleveland Cavaliers after taking the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. The promising star delivered. He scored 25 points, recorded 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals, and shot for 60% from the floor. He was named Rookie of the Year becoming the first Cavalier and the youngest to receive the distinction. He Joined Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson as the only player to score at least 20pts, 5 rebounds and 5 assists per game in his first season.

The Following season, 2004-05, he made it to the NBA All-Star game, recording 13pts, 6 assists, and 8 boards. He was the youngest player to record a triple-double. The Cavs failed short to make it to the Playoffs, but made up for it the following years. They haven’t miss them since then.

In the 2005-2006 he became the youngest player to win the All-Star Game MVP, at 21. He recorded triple double in his debut in the playoffs against the Washington Wizards. He is third player next to Johnny McCarthy and Magic Johnson to register a triple-double in their playoff debut.

He has pulled the Cavaliers into the Eastern Conference Finals twice and to the finals once in the 2007-2008 series were they lost in 4 games to the San Antonios Spurs. On February 27, 2008, he made his 10.000th points, becoming the youngest player ever to hit the mark. The Cavaliers were then eliminated in the 2008-2009 season by the Boston Celtics on an intense seven game series.

This 2009-2010 season, things might work a little different for LeBron. He has Shaquille O’Neal on his team, and his presence certainly gives a bit of balance to the offense and defense of the squad. As of press time, the Cavs are the favorite in the Odds to Win the NBA Championship at sportsbook’s industry leader BetIAS.com. This might be the best shot he’s got. The best player in the tournament really needs to win a NBA Championship. Otherwise, this will still be the story of a King with no Crown.
