If you feel stuck, frustrated or just ready to improve your life, a life coach can help. Life coaching is all about having a trained partner to help you distinguishing your goals (if you are not clear already), create a plan and have a support structure to make your goals a reality. Many people think life coaching and therapy are similar, however there are definite distinctions. Life coaches are not therapists or medical professionals; they are all about getting other people from point A to point B in their life, whatever that point B might be for a particular person. A therapist is more trained to deal with emotional hurts and issues. A therapist may talk about the past a lot and how you feel, while a life coach is more future based and goal focused- often not looking to heal but rather to help you move forward. The similarity between a therapist and a life coach is they both want you to be happy and fulfilled, but the path is different and in some cases a therapist is better and in some cases a life coach would be a better choice- it depends on the situation. Life coaching works by identifying the clients goals and vision in the areas of life that are important to them and then work with them to create an action plan to make that vision a reality. They help support their clients in moving through their fears, negative self-concepts, self-defeating internal dialogues and other obstacles to be more powerful and focused towards moving toward their goals. There are many areas where a person may need a life coach including working with people on relationships, falling in love, communication, confidence, self-trust, happiness, career satisfaction and more.
