If I make my term life insurance purchasing decisions without using a broker, how do I get my questions answered? Like what term life rates do different life insurance companies offer so I can be sure I am being shown the cheapest term life insurance quotes? Bob and I have been planning for our family since before we got married. That was more than 6 years ago. We wanted to be financially stable before we were willing to eliminate my salary from our income pool. We stuck to the plan pretty much from the beginning. We don't lead an expensive lifestyle. We don't eat out except on weekends and don't travel much. Both of our families are nearby so we don't have to go far to visit relatives. I like to think our simple life was in preparation for right now where we are soon to have an additional mouth to feed and for the first time we will be living on Bob's income alone. It took us longer than we planned to reach this point. I was sure I would be able to quit work within a couple of years of getting married. I even started to consider pursuing my career and delaying having kids indefinitely. My sister brought me back to my right mind. But the enticement of career advancement took over my thinking at one point. I could see reaching an executive position in a few years. I was in the position of being able to take advantage of being a woman at a bank that has few ambitious females and affirmative action obligations. I had to let my management know whether I was interested in a career where advancement was wide open to me if I would verbally commit to it. Long talks with family members gave me back my original perspective and goals regarding children. So now my attention is on establishing sound financial building blocks and life insurance is part of that. Term insurance is what fits the budget we will soon be living on. We are have been told we can use the internet to get term life quotes from most of the major carriers so we can compare prices for the best life insurance cost. It would seem that would eliminate the role of the broker and working with someone who can answer all of my questions. I will use web searches to find answers to any questions, just like in my college days.
