Internet marketing methods are varied, but one of the best methods of Internet marketing is list building. List building concepts are generally built around finding people who have an interest in the subject of your website. For instance, if your website is related to growing rabbits, you will naturally start to build a list of people who have an interest in growing rabbits also. A person who is not interested in this subject will have no interest in your website, or in joining your list. With this in mind and a desire to build your list to its fullest potential, think about ways to promote your list to others that have an interest in your subject. Still using raising rabbits as an example, a person with this type of site might want to exchange links with other websites that cover the same subject matter. If your website is part of a business you will want to work with non-competing websites of course, but if it is business related there are probably many complementary websites out there. For instance, there might be websites for people who raise other animals: chickens, hamsters, white mice, or whatever. These sites are not in competition with you, but many people who raise rabbits may also raise white mice, or chickens or hamsters. And the same is true in reverse. The owners of these websites may be open to the idea of exchanging links. They would put up links to your website and you would do the same for them. In that manner you can help each other and help the people who join your list and theirs. Remember that your list needs to be opt in. People must choose to join your list in order to receive email from you. This is a standard procedure of netiquette or Internet etiquette. It is only polite. Your list should remain confidential. This is only good business practice. Another method of Internet marketing that works well for many people is writing articles about the subject your website covers. If you own a website on raising rabbits chances are good that you are an expert in that area. If you write short articles about your subject and make those articles available free of charge to websites and forums that need content you can include a link to your website in the article and use them as free advertising to make people aware of your website. Finding people to add to your list should not be difficult. Concepts of list building are simple. They just require getting the word out, and Internet marketing is a varied and diverse type of marketing. Ranging from simply putting your URL in the signature line of your email to affiliate programs to writing articles and doing link exchanges, you will find that there are many ways. List building concepts and methods of Internet marketing will start to come to you in your sleep when you begin to think like an Internet marketer.
