Liven Up Your Room With Color & Texture!

By: Alberto Maeses Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Improvement

Your home is a personal mirror of your individual panache. Are you someone who likes a romantic and familiar corner to relish your quiet time? Or do you actually enjoy gathering your whole family and friends to your home, ringing the living room and encompassing it with joy and gossip? Blending elements of color and texture can produce spaces that you enjoy and want to come home to.

Utilizing Color

Think about the entire room that you are enhancing. Consider the carpeting, ceiling and existing articles of furniture. Don't be fearful to place color on your walls. An approach is to pick a color that punctuates your furniture or your flooring and paint one key wall in the room.

Think about the feeling and timber you want to produce. Warm colors like saffron, gold, ruby and peach make a room feel inviting and cozy. Cool colors like pastels, turquoise, leaf green, pink or plum produce a tranquil environment. Earth tones like brown, rust and loden green create a hospitable and comfortable room.

Texture

One other component of interior decoration is texture. Texture can be found in upholstery, in throws and covers, furniture, walls and flooring. For example, you can produce an comforting space by utilizing wood furniture like chairs, entertainment consoles and shelves. Select a sofa material of patterned chintz or creamy leather. Add a simple fleecy throw in a complimentary shade. Put down a throw or looped rug in the center of the space. Paint walls in a shade that contributes to your color scheme and shake it up using a faux painting method like ragging or sponging. All of these elements add texture and tone.

Decorating your living space can be a enjoyable and exciting task. Select a fashion and use colors that show who you are and what you want your place to say about you!
