Many families want to hire a nanny or sitter to help with childcare. It gives you the opportunity to create loving relationships that may last for the remainder of your life.
Are you looking to find a nanny job? Many of the responsibilities of a nanny are like those of a babysitter, but a nanny is a professional position that needs much more. Elders looking to hire a nanny take it seriously. If you would like to become a nanny, don't make the mistake of approaching the career with a casual perspective or enter the field selecting to take it lightly, it will be tough to find and keep work. Looking after other peoples's children is a privilege and a major commitment. Often , families will want to hire a nanny or sitter with a background or degrees / certifications in childcare or education, particularly infancy Education. These aren't necessary, but they do give families a measure of confidence the field holds interest for the nanny and she / he is serious about following a career in this area.
Notwithstanding ones tutorial background, the most important qualification a nanny can hold is one of responsibility. When a family is looking to hire a nanny, the number one obligation is honesty and trustworthiness. Families will be looking for applicants with the maturity to accept responsibility for the custody of their kids. A nanny is in the weird position of not being a relative but always needing to ask herself / himself, "How would I behave if I were the parent?"
Before a family can hire a nanny, it's vital that both parties ( the potential nanny and the family ) are clear about their expectations...leave nothing to assumption! Every detail should be debated and put into writing. Monthly or weekly meetings should be prepared to talk about the finer points of family life that appear, or major issues that need sorting.
Nannies come from a variety of backgrounds and age-groups - from students to mas of grown children. When families hire a nanny, they can have many different requirements. Some positions may need just a few hours a week, while others will need the nanny to live-in and work 60 hours a week. The nanny could be needed to simply get the kids to and from school, or she could be responsible for all daily activities, including cooking, laundry, and some cleaning. Again, the nanny's responsibilities will depend on the family's desires when the family will hire a nanny or sitter and expectations.
