Lots Of Variety In Southern California Vacations

Budgets are tight and everyone thinks twice about where to spend our travel money. We're looking for a destination that offers as much variety as possible. With such a wide range of recreation opportunities available, is hardly surprising that so many people have begun enjoying California vacations over the years.

In fact, irrespective of what your favorite activities are you can rest assured you won't be disappointed when you visit. This discussion provides a brief introduction to the recreation options specifically in Southern California.

If you like the idea of the spending your California vacation in the great outdoors, then you may want to consider renting a cabin in the San Bernardino Mountains east of Los Angeles. Of course in the winter there are just as many things to do, especially when half the country turns up with their skis and snowboarding gear. If you intend to do some hiking, fishing, mountain biking, swimming, or even boating, then you really should visit the area. You will see why it's not known as the "year round mountain playground" for nothing.

For those on a strict budget, there are many affordable options with regards to mountain recreation. If you arrive in the summer then you'll notice that it's an ideal time for camping at an affordable price. Campgrounds can get busy during the prime vacation season but many can be reserved in advance. Likewise, you can also choose to rough it up by booking into one of the many "bare-essentials" cabins. On the other hand, if you don't need to count your money, then you could of course rent one of the extremely luxurious homes that front along Big Bear Lake or Lake Arrowhead.

Apart from the mountains, one can also take advantage of the many spectacular golf courses situated in the desert areas of Riverside County around Palm Springs. This area is known as the Coachella Valley, known for its music festivals (and the Date Festival in Indio).

Of course, thousands of people to head to this part of California simply because of the wonderful theme Parks, of which there are seven major ones in total. This is particularly appealing to those who are going on a California vacation with children. Not only will the kids love it, but Dad will also appreciate the spectacular golf courses, and the whole family will enjoy experiencing Hollywood.

Whether you're into visiting zoos, going for train rides, or perhaps strolling through ghost towns and farms, you won't be disappointed, and the best thing of all is that most of the activities are free; or at most, you'll only be required to pay a small charge. As such, this is a great choice for those who are traveling on a budget. In fact, if you're on a really tight budget then you should ideally consider spending some of your time on the world famous beaches situated between Imperial Beach in the San Diego area and Malibu, above Los Angeles.

You'll also find a variety of wine tours and some opportunities to experience a ride in a balloon. Additionally, it is not uncommon for Southern California vacations to have you in town at the same time as one of the several festivals held here during the year.

The bottom line is; California vocations have something to offer everyone, irrespective of age. You are bound to come across something extraordinary during your southland vacation. In fact, you'll probably find that you have difficulty trying to fit everything in, and this is why you should consider planning your trip early, bearing in mind that if you try and fit too much in you'll simply become overwhelmed.
