Every woman throws away the menstrual blood in every cycle. It has been considered as a waste. In the menstrual cycle a series of physiological changes occur. Menstruation, which involves flow of blood from the uterus through the vagina, occurs mainly in human and also in few animals. The blood, which is thrown away in every cycle, is rich in stem cell. The Hematopoietic stem cells help to produce three types of blood cells, which help in circulation. They are white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. The Mesenchymal stem cells help to differentiate into chondrocytes, myocytes and many more. They are often termed as the gate keeper of bone marrow.

Now blood rich in stem cells are found in umbilical cord blood too. But they are available in abundant for an adult. Moreover, few controversies have been raised with the umbilical cord blood cells. The controversy says that it destroys several human embryos. Few ethical groups have raised this view. However, the menstrual blood does give place for any controversy. Hence the ethical groups should not have any doubts or any question regarding usage of menstrual blood to cure various. The menstrual blood has not yet been tried on humans. But it has been tested on animal and in the laboratories. The result of usage of menstrual blood has been very successful. Hence, few health centers have made arrangements to collect the menstrual blood.
