If you work as a graphic designer, not only does your day to day work give you money, practice in layout and other artistic skills, and a pretty emotionally fulfilling career, but it also gets you contacts. That is really the very best thing about graphic art design if you ask me, It means that you will have a lot of chances to get to work with other artists, and meet them. You will even get the chance to meet people with connections to galleries, so a graphic art design career is really the ideal choice for anyone with a passion for the arts who is thinking about making it into a career. Of course, being an artist alone is not sufficient experience for going in to graphic art design. You really need to go to a good graphic art design school, or there is just no chance of getting a job in this day and age. The field of graphic art design has gotten so crowded and competitive, after all, that there is little room even for the people who have been doing it forever. I can tell you that once I got through with my graphic art design schooling, it was easy to get a job doing art, but before that there was just simply no way at all. That is something that you need to think about if this is the area that you want to get in to.
