The primary indication an individual will see of the onset of male pattern baldness is a recession of their hairline, to the left and right of centre and a concurrent slow thinning to an area at the top of the scalp. In time, a greater downturn at the hairline and a widening of the balding area atop the scalp will result in these two areas eventually meeting to create a Friar Tuck style ring of remaining hair to the sides and back of the head. This in turn will further reduce, resulting, ultimately in a completely bald head. What causes male pattern baldness? There are a number of techniques used in hair replacement surgery. Sometimes, two or more techniques are used to achieve the best results. Advances in surgical hair replacement include follicular unit transplant, mini and micro grafting to improve final aesthetic results. Please be advised that there are limits to what can be accomplished. An individual with very little hair might not be advised to undergo hair replacement surgery. Most patients were treated for baldness of the fronto-parietal and vertex areas. Approximately 1700 to 2500 follicular units are tramsplanted in a single session, meaning about 3000 hair approximately as each follicular unit could have 1 to 3 hair. Donor strip is obtained from the occipital areas. The length of each strip was predetermined by the number of grafts to be done. Each strip was then divided into follicular units under Magnification. In hair transplant we take the hair from back of head Strip method or follicular unit extraction method also called FUE. and then transplant them into bald or balding zones. A standard hair transplantation procedure involves the removal of donor strip of hair from the back of the head from where the follicular unit grafts are dissected under a microscope. These grafts are then preserved in saline and are then transplanted on a bald patch on the crown area of the scalp. The scars in a previously harvested donor area make it significantly more difficult to extract follicular units in a repeat transplant without transaction. The scarring process alters the angle of follicles, as well as feel of the dermis. Although the individual scars of FUE are small, the cumulative scarring from thousand to thousands of open wounds, left to heal by secondary intention, is significant. The small white donor scars may not be visible through normal length hair. The fine white scarring can be seen if the scalp is clipped or shaved, a style that is increasingly common today.
