Did you know you can live life without spending money? That's right, you don't ever have to spend another dime for the rest of your life. Just making this simple switch, you won't ever have to spend money again. The Power of Words Words are very powerful. They have the ability to cause both emotional and physical reactions. You've probably heard the childhood chant, "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me..." - however I seriously doubt that you have not been hurt by words at some time or another in your life. Fortunately, just as words can cause pain, they can create joy, happiness and a plethora of other positive feelings. In this article I'm going to discuss how words can actually positively impact your finances. Feeling Bad About Spending Money Do you ever find yourself saying, "I'm spending money on this... or spending money on that?" Just the other day I overheard a woman talking about the things she had to spend money on. She was going on and on talking to a friend of hers about how much spending she had to do. Throughout the conversation the friend responded with several comments like, "oh no!" or "that's just awful" and many, many others. The thing I noticed was that they both were feeling badly about the fact that this woman was spending money on the things she was mentioning. So as usual, that got me thinking. The things the woman was referring to were things she needed... so spending the money was seemingly a "necessity" for her... but what really stood out for me was the idea that she was feeling bad out of "necessity". The conclusion I came to was that the word 'spending' was the culprit. Just saying the word spending almost makes you feel like you're losing something. How To Never Spend Money Again So, the idea I had was to replace the word "spend" with the word "invest". So instead of saying, "I've got to spend $200 on groceries this week..." Say, I'm investing $200 in groceries this week!" Because, truthfully you are making an investment in your health. Everything we do is some type of investment. Even if you're just going to the movies, you are investing in your entertainment. This simple change can positively impact the way you think about money, which can attract more money to you. So, change the words you use to support a positive, abundant mentality. Even if you don't like the word "invest", find another word that makes you feel good about money.
