Maximising Performance On The Football Pitch

By: Charlie Board Home | Health-and-Fitness | Diseases-and-Conditions

Good health is essential when playing a physical sport such as football, and if a person wants to play to their best then they should consider the variety of sports supplements which are available on the legal market.

In recent years, football supplements have become more common; these aids can maximise a player’s health which can ultimately lead to a better performance on the pitch. The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) recommends liquid meal replacements such as protein shakes or whey protein powder, or the solid form of a liquid meal which is a sports protein bar. These products must be incorporated into a strict diet and fitness regime in order for a football player to receive their maximum effects. Supplements which can enhance energy levels, focus, power and recovery are encouraged; therefore multi vitamins are great sports supplements as they contain the vitamins and minerals which ensure health and wellbeing.

It is important for a football player to be aware that supplements which contain chromium, boron, hydroxymethylbutyrate, colostrum are banned by FIFA as they are used to build muscle and reduce fat, and are deemed as pointless to a footballer’s performance and can impose serious health risks.

There are many retailers that sell sports supplements such as meal replacements, whey protein powder and multi vitamins; however when buying performance enhancing products a person should ensure they purchase them from a reputable company that has a history in dealing with supplements. Sports supplements will ultimately become part of your daily fitness and health regime, so it is vital you shop around for the best prices on the market. Many people often opt for the high street stores when looking to purchase supplements; however what they may not realise is that by purchasing them online they may receive the same products for a fraction of the high street price.
