One popular statements promotes the idea that just about anyone can do the network marketing business without any form of training, experience and skills. This is just plain wrong! Sadly, you hear it all the time even in other comments like, "Make $20,000 per month in 2 years." Nothing, my friends, could be farther from the truth! The simple fact of the matter is this, not all network marketers are created equal. All Melaleuca, Inc. distributors enter the race at different starting points, and some are definitely closer to the finish line than others. Some people have enormous head starts on others in terms of experience, skills, time, and money, and just because some people were able to successfully hit $20,000 a month in just two years doesn't mean that everyone will accomplish this. The problem lies with the Melaleuca Company pumping up their distributors to believe that anyone can immediately jump right into their business and achieve the same results as the big mlm players. What these Melaleuca business newbies aren't told by their uplines, sponsors, or companies, is that often times the big, top money earners move from company to company. When this occurs, they pile all of their experience, their marketing system, their huge guru status, as well as a big portion of their downline into a moving van and move everything with them. This makes it very easy for them to start earning massive commission checks almost immediately with their new mlm company. Melaleuca home based business beginners may have already heard how this seemingly "nobody" in the MLM world went from rags to riches in only six months. On top of that, distributors hear that this person is making $30,000 and they are being told that they can do it too! What's not being told to them is that the glory and stardom that these MLM gurus have is really a result of years of experience in sales and marketing not to mention thousands of dollars invested and countless hours of hard work! For example, what if someone like a stay-at-home mom, a fireman, a car mechanic, or a construction worker wants to start their own home based business? Do you think they'll see the same kind of results in the same time period as the successful MLM Melaleuca professional? I highly doubt it. It's really absurd to think that everyone in the Wellness Company is on a level playing field, because this simply isn't the case. So let's get to the "nitty gritty" of it all. If you're serious about building your Melaleuca wellness business and you're ready to start making the big bucks, then you've got to develop certain skills. One of the most important skills you should work on is improving your sales skills. If that freaks you out, know this. If you're involved with Melaleuca the Wellness Company, then you're involved in marketing and sales! No sales equals no profits and that means no success! And don't worry, you can develop the skills you need as long as you want to bad enough. We can learn something from the MLM gurus. One thing they do is ensure that they make time for their business! 8 - 10 hours is a minimum, but 12 - 15 hours or more really helps to build the momentum and success in this business! These gurus aren't making excuses about why they can't find the time. Melaleuca product distributors come from a diverse background, but one thing they all must learn is time management. "It takes money to make money!" Distributors have to set aside some funds dedicated to building their business in an ongoing fashion. Another big myth being told to new reps is that their only expenses are the start-up fees and their mandatory product orders. Can you imagine a Fortune 500 company operating like that? Distributors need to learn how to work off a budget and direct funds toward marketing their business in order to be successful. The next key to success is generating qualified leads (prospects) for your Melaleuca business. The money set aside for marketing is used for lead generation. Now there are basically two ways to get leads - advertising yourself or paying for leads. Distributors should really nail down how to advertise for theirown leads simply because it's more cost effective. Paying someone for leads may be okay short term though. In any case, just know that your goal is to get high-quality, qualified and targeted leads. This will ensure your success as a Melaleuca distributor.
