Micathermic Flat Panel Heaters: The Next Generation Space Heater

By: Sam Struebel Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Appliances

Micathermic flat panel heaters are lighter and faster heating alternative to traditional oil column heaters.

Utilizing the principal of convection heating, where warm air attracts cool air, a micathermic heater quickly heats the average sized room.

The fast a heater can bring a room up to temperature, the less power it uses.

Micathermic heating combines technology from both convection and reflective heating to efficiently heat air and surfaces. This mix of heating methods distributes warn air throughout the room more evenly than conventional heaters.

Some flat panel heaters can be used with a stand as a floor heater, or detached from the stand and hung on the wall just like a picture. When set on the floor, wheels allow it to be easily moved from room to room; when mounted on the wall, it's out of your toddler's reach.

Micathermic heaters weigh 50% less than traditional oil column heaters while heating up twice as fast without the use of fans.

Operating without the use of fans also ensures moisture levels of the room are maintained, eliminating the problems of dehydrated skin often associated with fan assisted heating.

As the heaters do not re-circulate dust or other allergens, micathermic heaters are suitable for asthmatics and those with respiratory problems.

Most flat panel heaters are equipped with an adjustable thermostat and an anti-freeze feature. The antifreeze feature will automatically turn the heater on when the room temperature gets below 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

Micathermic flat panel heaters also include overheat protection and are completely waterproof for added safety. The waterproof construction and space saving wall mounted design make this heater a natural for quickly warming a chilly bathroom.

The first time you use this type of heater, a slight odor from factory residue will be noticeable. I would suggest running it on the high setting in your garage or basement for an hour or two before bring it into your room.

If you're looking for an inexpensive, safe method to supplement your central heating system or add warmth to a cold apartment, the micathermic heater should be on your short list of small space heaters.
