To those who are not motorcyclists, it may be impossible to understand the appeal of something which, to the outsider, seems so dangerous. After all, you are riding a two-wheeled vehicle at high speeds with nothing more than your clothes and, hopefully, a helmet between you and the pavement in the event of an accident. When you consider how much more of a threat seemingly small things like speed bumps, potholes, and debris are to a two wheeled vehicle than to a four-wheeled vehicle, the risk seems even more foolhardy. For the most part, these are people who have never felt the wind whipping their face, the immediacy of the connection to the open road, and the excitement of negotiating traffic. It is invigorating, liberating, and exhilarating. The possible problems are definitely worth the rewards. Admittedly, however, the thought of a motorcycle accident can cause a shudder on occasion. After all, there really is very little to protect a motorcyclist in the event of a wreck, and the chance of suffering a bad injury is far greater to a motorcycle rider than a passenger inside a car or truck. Even with a helmet, injuries can be horrific and recovery long. In the event of a motorcycle crash, it pays to hire an experienced lawyer, one well-versed motorcycle laws and, preferably, a motorcyclist himself! Such a lawyer knows how to get the most advantageous possible settlement in cases involving a motorcycle. The technical language and paperwork that is so foreign to the average person is second nature to a lawyer, and the methods used by insurance companies to avoid payment are anticipated and thwarted. When your motorcycle lawyer declines a fee unless he successfully settles your case, you know he is going to be a fighter! With any luck, you will enjoy a rewarding life full of smooth cycling, but in the event of a motorcycle accident, it is nice to know where to turn for help. When you are recovering from accident injuries, the last thing you want to be doing is struggling with insurance companies and courts!
