Moving Closer To The Action

By: Andrew Obidowsk Home | Home-and-Family

An hour away from each other, the cosmopolitan and international Toronto is a stark difference from the rustic and outdoorsy Barrie. Barrie and Toronto are both located in Southern Ontario. Barrie is known to be the â€bedroom community†of people working in Toronto. There is about 35% out of its population of some 130,000 people who commute to Toronto from Barrie everyday. Barrie is basically a tourism stop in Ontario. And so is Toronto. Local and foreign tourists going to Ontario are sure to make stopovers in both these cities as they are only a mere hour’s drive away from each other. Locals love the mix of the refreshing outdoors with the rich cultural diversity of Barrie.

Moving to Toronto from Barrie could cut down the commute time and expenses. For those who work in Toronto could benefit from some savings by moving from Barrie to Toronto. The move might require some adjustments in terms of differences in communities between the two cities. Toronto is the provincial capitol city of Ontario, Canada. Unlike Barrie, it is densely-populated with over 2.5 million residents, accounting for about a quarter of the total population of Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe area.

Toronto is the provincial capital of Ontario and is the largest city in Canada. The city is home to local and multinational companies that boost Canada’s economy. Companies in the telecommunications, transportation, research, information technology, tourism, education, and sports choose to situate themselves in this city which is considered to be one of the top financial cities in the world. This is the reason why a lot of people travel to Toronto for employment.

This city is also a melting pot of cultures and is considered to be a global city. Even foreign immigrants are choosing to move to Toronto as their second homes. Despite the diverse composition of the city’s population, the city’s crime rate has remained low for years. The city is also consistently ranked as one of the cleanest environments with a high quality of living. Being one of the most sought after cities to live in has made residential rates in Toronto high. But the conveniences and the amount of travel time and expenses saved by moving closer to where the action is makes it worthwhile to move to Toronto.

During times when a getaway is needed to de-stress from hustle and bustle of being in the rat race, Barrie is a great way to relax. Taking a drive to Barrie is easy. There are three common routes to get to Barrie from Toronto: through Highway 400 North, through Highway 27 North, and through Yonge Street North. The most common route is through Highway 400 North. The Highway 27 and Yonge Street routes pass through Crookstown and Bradford respectively. It costs around 130 canadian dollars to take a cab to go to Barrie from Toronto.

Barrie is known as a gateway to great getaways. It is a popular travel destination for vacations and weekenders whole year round. Activities like ice-fishing, historical trips, art and cultural sightseeing, skiing, biking, hiking, and a host of other recreational activities can be enjoyed in Barrie. World-class accommodations as well as a wide range of restaurants are also available to shack up in in Barrie.

As far as working and being in the hub of things, Toronto is the best choice of residence. And for fun and leisure, it’s Barrie that cuts the deal. Shuttling to and from the two cities on a daily basis can get tiring and expensive. By staying close to the action and slipping out for a few days of rest and recreation, a lot of savings can be had.
