Mussoorie, Tourist Places - Hill Station Travel And Tour

Mussoorie is a charming hill station and popularly known as the Queen of Hills. It is 34 kms from Dehradun and it is situated in the Garhwali hills at an altitude of 2003 mts above the sea level. Mussoorie is visited more frequently by the visitors as it is one of the beautiful hill stations in India. People who are in search of relief from the hot sultry conditions of the plains can visit Mussoorie as it provides excellent respite to those people. If you are residing near the capital then you can make just weekend trip. Many major Hindu pilgrimage sites like Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Gangotri are not far from this place. Here at this place plant Mussoorie is found in abundance so this place is named as Mussoorie. This hill station developed gradually as a centre of education, business, tourism and beauty.

The nearest airport to Mussoorie is the Jolly Grant. You can even travel to Mussoorie by rail or road. Mussoorie has its own railway station and you can easily catch a train from Delhi to Mussoorie. It is connected with other major towns by road.

There are some important places in the Mussoorie to visit.

Gun Hill

Here you can enjoy a ropeway ride to the second highest peak of Mussoorie. The distance of ropeway is only 400 mtrs.

Municipal Garden

It is a picnic spot and it has a beautiful garden with artificial mini lake. It has boating facilities also.

Childer's Lodge

It is the highest peak of Mussoorie near Lal Tibba.

Camels Back Road

It starts from Kulri Bazar near Rink Hall and ends at Library Bazaar. Its total distance is about 3 kms.

Jharipani Fall

It is 8.5 kms from Mussoorie on Mussoorie-Jharipani Road. Visitors can go up to 7 kms by bus or car.

Bhatta Fall

It is 7 kms from Mussoorie on Mussoorie-Dehradun road. It is an ideal spot for picnic and bathing.

Kempty Fall

It is 15 kms from Mussoorie on the Yamunotri Road. This fall has an altitude of 4500 ft.

Nag Devta Temple

It is an ancient temple which is situated on Cart Mackenjie Road. It is about 6 kms from Mussoorie. It provides a charming view of Mussoorie as well as Doon Valley.

Mussoorie Lake

It is about 6 kms from Mussoorie and situated on Mussoorie - Dehradun road. It is a newly developed picnic spot. It is a delightful spot. Pedal boats are also available.

Besides these spots there are many beautiful spots for the visitors to visit.
