There has been the rapid growth in recent years of publications geared towards the African American community and My Black News [MyBlackNews] leads and innovates through blogs for the African Americans. My Black News searches the internet to bring African American news that the reader may not find, or could have trouble finding. A blog with direct relevance to the African American community is the report that for the past seven years a small venture firm that never got off the ground fought to get a court to listen to allegations that the Small Business Administration engaged in racial discrimination in denying a license to raise funds. The firm's four partners - all of whom are African American - will have their day in court after negotiations with the agency. The other noteworthy blog last July 30 included the report that some of the hottest start-ups are now raising money without a lead investor which is a departure from the traditional practice of venture capital funding rounds led by a single investor who sets the terms and typically gains more control. Black News brings value to the African American community for they often feature news stories relevant to the community that are not featured in mainstream publications. My Black News helps inform and build solidarity in the African American community and its innovative and pioneering spirit continues through its blogs for African Americans.
