Quick question, what is the most powerful way to market your music for free on the Internet? Answer: MySpace Music. MySpace.com was created in 1999 and has absolutely exploded on the market since then. Amazingly, MySpace has users in the tens of millions. If you have not considered MySpace for bands or MySpace for musicians yet, then over the next few minutes I guarantee this will change your mind.

MySpace, for starters, is absolutely free and what struggling, or rather, up and coming musician does not love that? All you have to do is go to Myspace.com, go to the MySpace music section and click artist sign up. Then, enter the info that they request and you are ready to go. From there, you can design your page and add personal flavor and style as you please.

If this is your first time considering MySpace for musicians or for your band then you may need some guidance. So, here is a simplified guide for newbies users. First you want to go to Myspace.com, then click on Music. Next, Click artist signup. Beware that you account could be terminated if the music is not originally owned and created by you or your band.

Now all you have to do is enter your information and genre and you are ready to go. You can upload photos, create a bio, customize your page, add friends and starting adding your music to the page. With MySpace for musicians, you get up to 4 MP3 uploads and a free URL for your band.

It is insane the amount of people you can reach in one day with your page with MySpace Music. People from all over the world will be able to listen to your music. If you are trying to promote a CD or gigs, this is the place to do it! Post bulletins about upcoming events to grab your fan's attention. Create a blog and entertain your fans to keep them coming back for more. The opportunities with MySpace for musicians are countless you just have to take advantage of every one of them.

As with any page, you need to keep it updated or people will become bored and move on. Constantly change your page or add exciting things to it. Make sure you have links where fans can go and purchase your music online. Even if blogging is not your thing, remember that blogging can increase your page ranking and essentially draw more people into your site. Be smart, creative and use MySpace music to its complete capabilities.
